CO-FOUNDER: Kelly Cox
After co-founding Iron Way; Kelly Cox became the co-creator, and host, of award-winning The Original Fare, where for the past five years she’s zig-zagged the globe to uncover where our ingredients truly originate from. She's worked in factory farm chicken houses in the American South, learned from master cheese makers in mouth-watering Loire Valley, plucked tea leaves with the women in Sri Lanka and India, and nearly lost the feeling in her feet reef net fishing in Hana Bay, Maui. But for real story: buy her a whiskey and ask her about hunting with sealers on icebergs in Newfoundland.
The Original Fare streams nationally with PBS and is distributed internationally by TVF to China, Thailand, New Zealand, Belarus, and Eastern Europe. At this point we can’t count the audience but it starts around 15 million.
She made her feature directorial debut with Big Dream, which follows seven ambitious young women around the world who will stop at nothing to achieve their Big Dream.
Produced in partnership with Microsoft, UN Women, White House Office of Science & Technology, UNICEF, and National Science Foundation-- Big Dream was selected in the American Film Showcase in partnership with the US State Department. She traveled from villages in northern Zambia, the jungles of Peru, ancient cities in Algeria, guarded communities in Haiti, and neighborhoods up and down the vastness of Thailand- exchanging with young women of all cultures a common goal: Girl Power and Gender Equality.
Once upon a time she created digital shorts for The Walt Disney Company, produced green spots for Alec Baldwin and the US Open, and interviewed some of the most game-changing innovators of our time with the National Academy of Engineering.
